I had the same issue, but a different (even stranger) error that I traced to an over-zealous optimizer who, as he discovered, was not enough to pass our strict build standards. I added the -DWITH_RACE_OF_LIFE_CHECK=ON flag to the CFLAGS and it fixed it.

That should bring up some dialog box and a warning, but if you don't care about this you can safely ignore it and just go back to the game.
A comparative assessment of drug-eluting stents in an unselected population of patients treated in a single clinical practice.
To study drug-eluting stent (DES) outcomes in an unselected population treated in a single medical center. We retrospectively analyzed 853 consecutive patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with DES from January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2006. Stent types were analyzed by patient characteristics, clinical presentation, and clinical indication. Compared with no stent, DES use was associated with a significant decrease in the major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event rate (P=0.018). Compared with plain stents, paclitaxel-eluting stents were associated with a significant reduction in the major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event rate at 6-month follow-up (P=0.026). Patients who had multivessel PCI had a lower major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event rate with DES than with plain stents (P=0.03). DES is associated with a significant improvement in major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event rate in unselected patients in the setting of an academic practice.
